3D Pen Model

One of the first assignments in my second CGI class was to fully model and texture a pen from scratch. The idea was to take a pen you owned, photograph your own reference images, and recreate it accurately in Maya at the correct size and scale.

Project Details

One of the requirements was an exploded view render, which meant photographing every individual component of the real pen and building each one separately in 3D to match it as closely as possible.

This project pushed my skills in creating accurate, one-to-one recreations of real-world objects in 3D, which has carried over into a lot of the work I have done since.
